Why you should add a night or two in Nairobi

On our main 7 night safari, you go straight to Aberdares after arriving in Kenya, however you can opt to spend a night or two in Nairobi either before your safari or afterwards. And there are two great reasons to do so.

1. First, the chance to visit the Giraffe Centre just outside Nairobi where you can hand feed giraffes. What I particularly love about this park is that they are in a natural setting, and share their home with warthogs!
2. Second, you can also visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust which cares for orphaned animals, in particular, elephants. Visitors are welcome from 11am to 12 noon each day.
3. For a special dining treat, visit Nairobi's Carnivore Restaurant where exotic meats are roasted to perfection in front of you on Masai swords, ready to be served with a variety of salads, vegetables and sauces.
4. Finally, for something truly special I would recommend a night at Giraffe Manor, just outside Nairobi, and home to a resident herd of giraffe. All meals and some drinks are included in your stay, and the highlight is often at the breakfast table when the giraffes approach.
