Mount Kenya (1 night)
There is a large population of black rhino, as well as giant forest hog and leopard. You are staying at Serena Mountain Lodge which has its own water hole and salt-lick, which means that numerous herds of elephant and buffalo can be seen from the viewing deck. Great Rift Valley and continue on to Lake Nakuru in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Travel to Lake Naivasha and the Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. The estimated travel time is 2 - 2.5 hours and later 45 minutes to your lodge.

The big 5 are here - buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino - plus huge numbers of giraffe, wildebeest, cheetah, gazelle, hippopotamus, impala, and topi. There are millions of animals in the park, and between July and October the wildebeest migration brings in millions more wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in Tanzania.
Saturday Drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve (320 km), and enjoy an afternoon game drive. The estimated travel time is 4-4.5 hours.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Sunday Today, you can have the experience of a lifetime with an early morning balloon flight over the Masai Mara, followed by a ‘bubbly’ bush breakfast. The supplement is £275 per person, and this can be booked at any time before travel, subject to avaiability.
For those not doing the balloon, there is a special 'Hippo Pool Breakfast' at the Ashnil Mara Camp, followed by a game drive.
Afterwards, relax by the pool overlooking the endless panorama stretched out before you. After lunch, there is an afternoon game drive.

| | | | Notes 1. A visa is required to enter Kenya, and it is currently US$ 50, payable on entry. It is possible to buy a visa beforehand, but it takes at least 3 working days, even in person, so we recommend just getting one on arrival. 2. Malaria precautions are recommended for holidays to Kenya. There are various tablets available but it is best to speak to your GP or Travel nurse for best advice. 3. An exclusive safari vehicle is available. If there are 2 of you, it works out at £285 per person. For 3 people, £130 per person. And for 4 people, it is just £50 per person. These will be premier safari vehicles with more space more comfort. 4. You get a guaranteed window seat on all days 5. You have a guide throughout the safari who will know the best places to go to view the game 6. Early morning hot air balloon trips are pre-bookable in the Masai Mara - these are normally around £275 per person. Afterwards, you will have a 'bubbly' breakfast in the bush. From personal experience, this is something I would hugely recommend! 7. Prices based on Kenya Airways, but flights with BA and Virgin also available at a supplement. Please note thought that Kenya Airways has the best flight connections and because of their generous baggage allowance of 2 bags x 23kg per person, we recommend that you fly with Kenya Airways. 8. There is an option to fly from the Masai Mara back to Nairobi either £170 per person for the morning flight or £205 for the afternoon flight which would also include lunch in the Mara. Please note the luggage allowance on the light aircraft is 15kg. 9. All lodges are in prime locations for wildlife viewing. | |
